Streaks, goals, quests and freezes
None of this teaches you anything. It exists because the hardest problem in learning vocabulary is not difficulty, it is coming back the next day.
Goals and streaks
Set a daily goal — a number of reviews, and optionally a number of new words. Meet it and the day counts; the streak is the run of days you met it.
Quests
Three quests a day, the same three for everyone on a given date rather than a list that reshuffles while you work. Two are fixed — a warm-up and your daily target — and the third rotates.
Freezes, and what they honestly do
Finish all three quests and you earn a streak freeze, up to three held at once. A freeze covers a day you actually missed, so one bad day does not erase a month.
A freeze is only spent if you hold enough to cover the whole gap: miss one day with one freeze and the streak survives, miss three days with one freeze and it resets, as it should. The screen says the streak was saved by a freeze — it never claims you practised.
XP and levels
Correct answers earn XP, weighted by how hard the mode is — typing a word out is worth more than turning a flashcard. XP accumulates into levels and bands; it unlocks nothing, which is deliberate. It is a record of work done, not a gate.
